GOOGLE ANDROID IS A REAL MAN’S PHONE?

GOOGLE ANDROID IS A REAL MAN’S PHONE?

 Few facts:

Former Apple evangelist Guy Kawasaki says ‘real men use Google Android’

“People are kind of amazed, but I don’t use any iOS products, none at all…I fell in love with Android on the smartphone, and then I got a Nexus 7 and started using Android on the tablet as well. To me the great irony is that Apple’s slogan was `Think Different,’ but today if you think different you’re looking at Google Android.”

Nielsen find “Women want Apple’s iPhone, men prefer Google Android”

Nielsen, a leading global information and measurement company, provides market research, insights & data about what people watch & what people buy.

And among younger consumers—the age group with the highest rates of smartphone ownership—Android phones had a 12 percentage point lead over iPhones, with 43% of mobile phone owners between 18 to 24 years old on Android smartphones, compared with 31% on the iPhone. Android was also more popular among those ages 25 to 54, though the difference began to narrow progressively among each older age group.

Comparing iPhone and Android shows something interesting: the amount of time people spend talking on their smartphones stays fairly constant (Android users average around 14 minutes while iPhone users average around 17)

Answer: Predominantly Male (Android) vs Female (iPhone). Correct for gender and the difference in talk time will fade.

Droid ads mainly targeted the male demographic

Droid. Should a phone be pretty? Should it be a tiara-wearing digitally clueless beauty pageant queen? Or should it be fast? Racehorse duct-taped to a Scud missile fast. We say the latter. So we built the phone that does. Does rip through the Web like a circular saw through a ripe banana. Is it a precious porcelain figurine of a phone? In truth? No. It’s not a princess. It’s a robot. A phone that trades hair-do for can-do.
